The County of Middlesex has received an unsolicited proposal for consideration under the Public-Private Transportation Act of 1995, Virginia Code Sections 33.2-1800 through 33.2-1823 (“PPTA”) to build a new 3200 ft. runway at Hummel Field. The proposed runway intends to serve Middlesex County and surrounding areas, including the lower Northern Neck region of Virginia.
The County has reviewed the initial proposal and has accepted it for conceptual phase evaluation and consideration. The County encourages any interested parties to submit competing proposals that comply with the County’s adopted procedures. The County may accept competing proposals for simultaneous consideration and review. The County may negotiate an interim or comprehensive agreement with one or more proposers.
